Litigation Attorney
Location: Lakewood CO
Employment Type: Full-Time
Please note: This position will be fully onsite for one year and then may be performed as a remote role.
Position Overview
Our client is a Colorado-based law firm providing legal services to community associations (HOAs) and businesses throughout the state. The firm focuses on governance covenant enforcement collections litigation and risk prevention.
They are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join their Litigation Practice Group. This role involves managing a varied litigation caseload with a primary focus on insurance defense and community association-related matters as well as real estate and business disputes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage district court matters and select county or administrative cases from intake through trial settlement or appeal
- Conduct case evaluations discovery legal research and drafting of pleadings and motions
- Communicate with clients regarding case status strategy and risk assessment
- Lead and participate in client meetings as required
- Contribute to firm business development initiatives
Qualifications
- Active license to practice law in the state of Colorado
- 710 years of litigation experience preferably including district court trials and/or insurance defense
- Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently from start to finish
Required Skills
- Strong legal research writing and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- High attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines
- Sound judgment discretion and independent decision-making
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint)
- Experience with Practice Master NetDocuments or similar legal software preferred
- Portable book of business is a plus
