Installation Technician
Position Overview
The Level 3 Upfitter Technician is responsible for converting brand-new vehicles into fully equipped police and emergency response units. This role requires advanced mechanical and electrical expertise the ability to work independently and a strong focus on quality safety and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install all equipment required to upfit vehicles for police and emergency use
- Route install and terminate wiring harnesses controllers light bars consoles partitions push bumpers camera and radar systems power supplies and related components
- Disassemble and reassemble factory vehicles according to build specifications
- Read and interpret electrical schematics with minimal supervision
- Perform advanced installations using industry-standard upfitter equipment and components
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Contribute ideas to improve efficiency workflow and build quality
- Work collaboratively while following safety and quality standards
- Attend required meetings
Required Qualifications

3 years of automotive electrical systems experience
- 3 years of experience as a police or emergency vehicle upfitter technician

High school diploma or GED
-
Valid Texas drivers license

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Positive attitude and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment

Must pass an extensive background check

$30 per flag hour based on actual upfitting time per vehicle
