The Business Development Manager is a hunter-focused sales role responsible for driving new customer acquisition and revenue growth within The Fi Companys Northwest region primarily representing the Seattle manufacturing center Core processes include a variety of industrial plastics manufacturing methods. This position owns territory planning prospecting pipeline development and closing of new business while working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver high-value technically driven manufacturing solutions.
This role is ideal for a consultative technically minded sales professional with a proven track record of opening new accounts developing opportunities and converting complex RFQs into profitable long-term customer relationships.
Own territory planning prospecting strategy and pipeline development for the Northwest region.
Identify pursue and close new customer opportunities aligned with Seattles core manufacturing capabilities.
Develop and execute a disciplined sales process.
Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify industry trends customer needs and growth opportunities.
Attend industry trade shows networking events and customer meetings to generate leads and build relationships.
Identify and engage key decision-makers within procurement engineering quality and operations teams.
Lead and participate in the RFQ process ensuring timely accurate and competitive responses.
Collaborate with Program Management NPI teams Operations and Finance to successfully launch new customer programs.
Provide pricing input and margin analysis in coordination with Sales leadership and executive management.
Develop accurate sales forecasts by opportunity including scope timelines and expected revenue.
Lead customer inputs for end-to-end product lifecycle processesfrom concept and design through development launch maintenance and end-of-lifeto ensure alignment with business objectives.
Maintain accurate CRM records sales reports forecasts and activity documentation.
Travel within the region to support sales efforts.
Minimum of 5 years of outside B2B industrial sales experience preferably in consultative or technical manufacturing sales.
Demonstrated success opening new accounts and growing revenue within an assigned territory.
Existing relationships with decision-makers and influencers in target customer segments is a strong plus.
Bachelors degree preferred (Engineering Business Administration or related field).
Experience interpreting customer drawings CAD files or technical specifications.
Background selling solutions involving plastic molding precision sheet metal or related manufacturing processes preferred.
Proven hunter mentality with strong prospecting negotiation and closing skills.
Ability to sell complex value-based manufacturing solutions to executive-level stakeholders.
Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate risk pricing and margin considerations.
Highly organized self-directed and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally across operations engineering and finance.
Ability to evaluate engineering data sets (drawings CAD models BOMs) for effective assessment of opportunities
Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook Teams).
Familiarity with ERP systems and sales reporting tools.
This role requires travel within the assigned territory . The position involves regular use of computers phones and presentation tools as well as time spent in office customer and manufacturing environments.
Occasional extended work hours and weekend work may be required to meet customer and business needs.
