What Youll Do
As the Field Technician for our Hydro Excavation (HXX) Crew you will be responsible for all activities related to assisting the Hydro Excavation Operator and completing the necessary tasks on the jobsite as they relate to hydro excavation services. You will be responsible for setting up vacuum tubes assisting with hydro work properly maintaining equipment back fill of holes site restoration assisting with traffic control needs and ensuring a safe working environment. You will also be responsible for ensuring safe efficient and effective performance of all work in accordance with company-wide policies and procedures. You will:
- Abide by all safety policies and procedures including wearing required PPE for your safety
- Maintain all working equipment in good operating condition
- Haul and tow equipment to and from job site - you will drive a 2500 while pulling various sized trailers safety equipment or spoils
- Operate all equipment in a safe manner
- Assist Hydro Excavation Operator with hydro excavation work
- Back fill holes and perform site restoration (topsoil seeding)
- Assist in tracking daily production and reporting of completed work
- Assist with traffic control
- Perform other duties as needed

- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Have a valid chauffers license with a clean driving record required
- Are willing to undergo a background check MVR check pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical
- Can lift and carry up to 65 pounds multiple times per day while transporting equipment across uneven terrain
- Are able to drive a 2500 while pulling various sized trailers safety equipment or spoils
- Are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and within confined spaces (i.e. manhole entry) often involving kneeling crawling and physical maneuvering
- Are willing and able to travel in and out of state depending on project needs with occasional weekend work required as needed
- Have working knowledge of smartphones tablets and digital communication tools or a willingness to learn
- Have prior experience in utilities construction or municipal work preferred
- Have strong verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with field crews
- Are willing to safely use fall protection gear gas monitors ventilation systems and full PPE including boots safety vest hard hat gloves and eye/ear protection
- Can perform all job responsibilities in environments that may include sewage strong odors noise humidity and extreme temperatures
- Can complete all job tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
Additional information:
- Hours are Monday Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (hours vary depending on project)
- There will be additional hours based upon job needs
- May be required to report to multiple different shop locations based on project needs
