The Role

The Maintenance Technician performs activities concerned with maintaining the facilities by performing the following duties:

What you will be responsible for:

Reports all activities and navigates proficiently through the maintenance CMMS system.
Preventive Maintenance and repair of HVAC systems
Preventive Maintenance and repair of Electrical systems and Generators.
Preventive Maintenance and repair of all facilities equipment.
Comply with all LOTO procedures.
Familiar with and comply with all Red Tag Permit Instructions per Insurance company.
Troubleshoots a variety building infrastructure systems.
Ensures preventative measures are satisfying safety standards.
Performs monthly inspections on all production equipment and replacement parts.
May collaborate with building management towards the renovation and improvement of facilities systems.
May report maintenance metrics to management.
Confers with department managers to coordinate monthly inspections.
Must have a valid drivers license to be able to drive to different locations within the Port.
Regular attendance ability to arrive at work punctually ability to work onsite ability to work overtime.
Ability to work cooperatively with others ability to deal respectfully with the public customers vendors other employees managers and executive management.
Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently ability to work in a fast-paced environment ability to interchange with others in the department.

COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS (knowledge skills and abilities)

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
3-5 years of experience in facilities is preferred.
Must have electrical plumbing and HVAC systems indoor and outdoor building repair experience.
Journeyman Electrical or HVAC license is preferred.
