Job Summary

Overview

The Agency of Transportation (AOT) is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Parts Specialist to support the Northwest region of the AOT Fleet at our Chimney Corners location. This position is responsible for managing stockrooms and maintaining accurate inventory of parts materials and supplies used in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of vehicles equipment and tools.

Key responsibilities include ordering receiving and issuing parts in compliance with Bulletin 3.5 as well as maintaining a computerized inventory system. The Parts Specialist also plays a key role in facility safety by ensuring up-to-date SDS sheets are on hand and conducting routine inspections of fire extinguishers.

This role may involve operating equipment such as forklifts and front-end loaders and includes providing training and guidance for other Agency staff.

Although the full salary range for this position is provided new hires are typically made at the salary range minimum.

Environmental Factors

Incumbents must be able to lift and move heavy parts equipment or supplies. Must be available to work necessary overtime to provide all supply room services during emergency or storm situations. Some fieldwork will be necessary to inspect outlying inventory means of transportation may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) or more years of experience in inventory or in automotive maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

Automotive vocational coursework.
Experience with computers and ability to learn new programs.

Special Requirements

A current valid drivers license is required.
