A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is working with a range of mainstream schools SEMH provisions and alternative education settings in Hounslow to recruit dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentors. These schools support pupils who experience barriers to learning due to challenging behaviour emotional dysregulation trauma anxiety and unmet special educational needs and they are seeking professionals who can offer calm consistent and structured support.
As a Behaviour Mentor in Hounslow you will work closely with pupils who struggle to regulate emotions or manage behaviour within a school environment. Many pupils present with SEMH needs Autism ADHD attachment difficulties or trauma-related behaviours. Your role is to support pupils in developing positive coping strategies maintaining engagement with learning and reducing behaviour incidents.
You may support pupils on a 1:1 basis in small intervention groups or across a classroom or year group. Some roles involve supporting pupils during transitions unstructured times or following behaviour incidents ensuring pupils can reintegrate into lessons safely and successfully.
Deliver structured behaviour support aligned with individual behaviour plans
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Use de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches
Promote clear boundaries routines and expectations
Build trusting professional relationships with pupils
Act as a positive role model within the school environment
Support engagement with learning and school routines
Work collaboratively with teachers SENCOs and pastoral teams
Record and report behaviour incidents accurately
Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times

Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
Backgrounds in youth work care mentoring education or psychology welcomed
Calm resilient and emotionally intelligent
