A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is working with mainstream schools SEMH provisions and alternative education settings in Camden to recruit confident and resilient Behaviour Mentors. Schools in this area support pupils with complex behavioural emotional and social needs often linked to trauma mental health challenges or unmet SEN.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor in Camden you will work closely with pupils who find it difficult to regulate emotions or behaviour in school. Many pupils require high levels of consistency clear boundaries and emotional support to remain engaged in education.

You may support pupils on a 1:1 basis within small intervention groups or across classrooms. Some roles involve working in alternative provision settings where behaviour support and relationship-building are central to pupil success.

Key Duties

  • Provide structured behaviour and emotional support

  • Support pupils with regulation strategies and emotional literacy

  • De-escalate challenging behaviour calmly and professionally

  • Reinforce school expectations and routines

  • Act as a positive role model

  • Support reintegration into lessons

  • Work closely with pastoral and SEN teams

  • Record behaviour incidents and monitor progress

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in behaviour support youth work care or mentoring

  • Calm resilient and emotionally intelligent

  • Confident managing challenging behaviour

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
