The School Business Manager plays a critical strategic role within the senior leadership structure overseeing finance operations estates HR support and compliance. Working closely with the Headteacher and Governors you will ensure that the schools resources are managed effectively to support long-term sustainability and continued improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic financial planning budgeting forecasting and monitoring
Oversight of procurement contracts and value-for-money initiatives
Line management of administrative finance and site teams
Ensuring compliance with financial regulations audits and policies
Supporting HR processes payroll coordination and staffing structures
Contributing to whole-school strategy and development planning
Proven experience in a School Business Manager or senior operational role
Strong financial management and strategic planning skills
Knowledge of education-sector compliance and governance (desirable)
Excellent leadership communication and organisational skills
Ability to work at both strategic and operational levels
