A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is currently working in partnership with a number of inclusive mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions in North Hackney to recruit committed and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants. These schools support pupils from diverse backgrounds and place a strong emphasis on inclusion wellbeing and positive relationships.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in North Hackney you will support pupils who experience barriers to learning due to Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) SEMH ADHD speech and language needs learning difficulties or sensory processing challenges. Many pupils require consistent adult support clear routines and emotional reassurance to thrive in the classroom.
You may be required to work 1:1 with a specific pupil support small intervention groups or provide flexible classroom support. Some roles may involve supporting pupils during unstructured times such as lunch transitions between lessons or movement around the school site.
Your role will be central to helping pupils feel safe understood and supported enabling them to engage positively with learning and school life.
Provide tailored SEN support in line with EHCPs and individual support plans
Support pupils with emotional regulation behaviour and social interaction
Assist teachers with differentiated lesson delivery and learning activities
Promote independence confidence and positive self-esteem
Support pupils during transitions and sensory regulation activities
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs
Maintain accurate records relating to behaviour progress and safeguarding
Follow school policies safeguarding procedures and inclusion frameworks
