The George Institute for Global Health was established in 1999 with a mission to improve the health of millions of people worldwide particularly underserved populations by challenging the status quo and using innovative approaches to prevent and treat the worlds biggest killers: non-communicable diseases and injury.
With offices in Australia China India and the UK our 700 people support 245 active projects and clinical trials across 50 countries with 400 more staff across our social enterprises. The George Institute a wholly owned legal not-for-profit Indian research institute has been conducting research related activities in India since 2002. The George Institute Indias mission mirrors that of the parent organization namely the discovery and implementation of solutions to chronic and disabling health problems through research policy development and capacity building.
A number of large-scale projects in population health systems and clinical research funded by a diverse group of sponsors both public and private are conducted in India. The George Institute India comprises two distinct operating groups: Research and Development and Infrastructure and Resources. It has two separate offices - in Hyderabad and New Delhi where the research staff and senior management are based.
The NIHR Global Health Research Centre for Non-Communicable Diseases and Environmental Change aims to be a recognised centre of excellence on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and global environmental change in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) offering world-leading research training and policy advice for health equity. NIHR-GHRC project will address crucial knowledge gaps through three integrated research themes: 1. Strengthening primary health care and essential public health services for NCD prevention and management in communities affected by rapid environmental change; 2. Developing and evaluating multi-sectoral interventions that have dual benefits in reducing the burden of NCDs and hazardous environmental exposures at the population level; 3. Strengthening engagement of communities in the generation and use of evidence and advocacy for health and environment policy change. All interventions will have a focus on reducing inequities in addition to cost-effectively improving health outcomes
Python Developer will be responsible for to develop and manage all components of 3 major projects Common Data Platform an Early Warning System and an NIHR Multi-Sector Intervention. Architect and implement robust backend solutions using Python Django Flask API and knowledge in micro service architecture. Develop and maintain efficient database structures with expertise in SQL and NoSQL is required. The Python Developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address issues participate in the development process and contribute to the overall improvement.
The Python Developer will be based in Hyderabad but should be willing and able to undertake domestic and international travel as required. The appointment is initially for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension based on future funding.
The Python Developer (He/She) will report to Sridevi Gara Technology Lead. SMARThealth on this project at The George Institute for Global Health India.
The Python Developer would be expected to:
Contribute to the design development and implementation of three critical components of SMARThealth : the Common Data Platform an Early Warning System and an NIHR Multi-Sector Intervention.
