The University Library is seeking to hire a Library Assistant II on a part - time basis (20 hours per week) at our Decatur campus. The scope of the responsibilities will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following:
Assist in the daily operation of the librarys primary service point including serving as primary coverage
Complete basic circulation functions such as charging discharging and renewing library materials on Alma platform
Answers patron questions in person or by phone regarding library services resources and general campus queries.
Perform regular walk-throughs throughout the shift to periodically assess and address library operation issues including supply replenishment noise trash patron behavior/disruption facilities study room occupancy and technology
Explain and enforce library policies and procedures and manage patron records
Assists patrons with placing and/or receiving library inter-campus loans GIL Express and ILL requests.
Processes daily incoming/outgoing mail which includes fulfilling call slip requests via inter-campus ARCHE and Stat mail.
Assist with larger-scale library projects and events including space and collection management and campus

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED and one year of library customer service or office experience or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Recent experience in a college or university
Familiarity with the use of computers
Knowledge of library circulation processes in an automated environment
Required Experience:
Junior IC
