Overview
Position Summary: Set-up and operate in a safe manner any and/or all machining automation and polishing equipment within a production cell. This will include all quality checks per the control plan.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks
- Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments templates and fixtures.
- Remove and replace dull cutting tools
- Mount install align and secure tools attachments fixtures and workpieces on machine using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Listen to machine during operation in order to detect sounds as those made by dull cutting tools and adjust machines to compensate
- Adjust machine feeds and speed change cutting tools or adjust machine controls when necessary.
- Stop machine or remove finished workpieces or to change tooling according to required machining sequences
- Calculate machine speed and fee ratios and the size and position of cuts
- Check to ensure that workpieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operations
- Set-up and operate computer controlled machines or robots to perform one or more machine functions.
- Confer with supervisor or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions or errors.
- Monitor machine operation and control panel displays
- Maintain machines and remove/replace broken/worn tools
- Clean machines as needed
- Stack/load finished items into containers
- Set-up future jobs while machine is operating
- All individuals must be flexible to rotate within any ratchet body cell.
- Support and adhere to all 6-S and TPM requirements.
- Wear the proper personal protective equipment distributed and approved by the company.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Flexible to work overtime is required.
- Support continuous improvement
- Perform all necessary quality checks per the quality control plan.
- Meet and also exceed required productivity levels.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience.
- Level 4 CRC Preferred
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide decimals and fractions. Work from drawings specifications and formulas involving limited detail. Use and interpret measuring equipment.
ADDITIONAL COMMENT
- Use precise judgment to plan and perform work; make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups operations and processes within the limit of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
