Job Summary:The Audio Visual Specialist I develops proprietary control system programs and graphical user interfaces for integrated audio visual systems. Coordinates and supports the overall design and installation of these systems. Serves as technical support for faculty and staff. Manages projects or particular project tasks related to programming development and Audio Visual system design. Provides guidance and training to Audio Visual Technicians.
Additional Department Summary:Responsible for managing and maintaining audio/visual technology resources across the college to support academic research and creative endeavors. This position ensures seamless operations of audio/visual systems and provides expertise in equipment management training and event support. Facilitates faculty integration of audio/visual technology in academic programs while ensuring viability of A/V operations of the C&IS equipment room media studios instructional and research spaces and conference rooms.
Required Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of audio visual technical support experience; OR associates and two (2) years of audio visual technical support experience; OR bachelors degree and some audio visual technical support experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge:A/V configuration skills; familiarity with all forms of media equipment & media studios; customer service skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with faculty and instructional and research spaces. Experience with professional media studios and Crestron/Extron A/V systems; experience maintaining and repairing creative production/media equipment.
