This Professional and Scientific position will be filled as either a Conflict of Interest in Research (COIR) Analyst (PRD1) or Senior COIR Analyst (PRD2) based on candidate qualifications of the successful candidate. The Conflict of Interest in Research Office at the University of Iowa is seeking a Conflict of Interest in Research (COIR) Analyst or Senior Analyst. This position will provide developmental and administrative assistance and expertise for the conflict of interest in research program and services. The position will design plan promote and conduct activities of substantial complexity and impact to support compliance with conflict of interest in research requirements. Responsibilities include developing and coordinating procedures and programs to enhance investigator compliance with disclosure processes attending Conflict of Interest in Research Committee (CIRC) meetings to document discussions and management plan conditions and providing educational content for the research community.
Position Status: Regular. The position is open to a full-time equivalent of 50-100%. Part-time or full-time appointments are available within the stated range.

About Pay and Compensation:
Pay Grade: 3A or 4A
Qualifications for Senior COIR Analyst (PRD2-4A):
Education or Equivalency Required:
Bachelors degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in preparing and submitting or reviewing IRB application materials and Informed Consent Documents is required.
Knowledge of University/Higher Education and federal regulations regarding the conflicts of interest in research.
Evidence of strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication interpersonal and relationship management skills including the ability to interact with clients on a broad range of sensitive topics is required.
Extensive experience with Microsoft Office software the internet and cloud-based systems.
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
Reasonably related (3-4 years) research program coordination administrative lead projects and/or supervisory experience.
Demonstrated knowledge (3-5 years) of conflict of interest in research regulations.
Qualifications for COIR Analyst (PRD1-3A):
Education or Equivalency Required:
Bachelors degree in an appropriate field or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Required Qualifications:
Experience (typically 6 months 1 year) of current and relevant administrative or program coordination experience.
Demonstrates a working proficiency in the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Understands the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to process information with high levels of accuracy at a working level of proficiency.
Ability to meet or exceed customer service needs and expectations and provide excellent customer service at a working level of proficiency.
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
Working experience with human subjects and/or basic science research including regulatory compliance processes.
Desirable Qualifications:
Working knowledge of University policies procedures and regulations.
Working experience with electronic database application/s.
