Position Role: The MTO is the senior officer in charge of the Bn MT and is responsible for the MT Section and all matters relating to Unit Defence Transport management.
Responsibilities:
- The MTO is to deliver efficient effective and safe transport to support Bn training and operational commitments.
- Duties will mainly concern the management of the MT Section including discipline training career management welfare and ensuring that health and safety standards are maintained.
- The MTO will be responsible for the planning of and supervising all internal MT courses.
- The MTO will be responsible for ensuring that the MT fault reporting system is maintained and in accordance with current regulations.
- To supervise that the overall standards in the unit MT fault reporting and servicing systems are maintained and upheld.
- The MTO is to ensure that all vehicle log book details are accurately maintained and recorded.
- Responsible for all aspects of driver training including the timely preparation of candidates conducting of UK Theory Testing.
- The MTO will supervise the maintenance of a register of all Unit drivers and their up to date driving qualifications which will be carried out by the MT CSgt (V).
- The MTO is to review all RTA files ensuring that the CO is briefed swiftly and fully.
