Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
Milieu Management & Patient Care
- Oversee daily operations of the clinical milieu to ensure consistency with therapeutic goals and program standards.
- Ensure a safe structured and trauma-informed environment that supports patient stabilization and recovery.
- Monitor patient behavior and unit dynamics; intervene appropriately during crises or escalations.
- Support implementation of individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clinical staff.
- Promote patient engagement in groups activities and daily routines.
Staff Supervision & Leadership
- Supervise train and support milieu staff (e.g. Mental Health Technicians Behavioral Health Technicians).
- Provide ongoing coaching feedback and performance evaluations.
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage and assist with scheduling as needed.
- Model professional behavior clinical boundaries and therapeutic communication.
Clinical Collaboration
- Collaborate with therapists nurses psychiatrists and case managers to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in treatment team meetings shift reports and care coordination discussions.
- Communicate patient progress concerns and incidents to the clinical leadership team.
Safety Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies licensing regulations and accreditation standards.
- Monitor adherence to safety protocols including de-escalation restraint/seclusion (if applicable) and incident reporting.
- Review and complete required documentation including shift notes and incident reports.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to milieu operations.
Program Development & Quality Improvement
- Assist in developing and refining milieu programming routines and therapeutic activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve patient experience staff performance and unit functioning.
- Support implementation of evidence-based and trauma-informed practices within the milieu.
