This role balances strict regulatory requirements with business realities enabling program execution while maintaining full compliance.The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining policies managing export authorizations supporting internal stakeholders and continuously improving export control processes and tools.Location: Brampton ONWork Arrangement: HybridResponsibilities- Review complete and manage End-User Statements export permits licenses and authorizations (Canadian and foreign).
- Apply for re-export and re-transfer approvals for U.S.-origin items through the U.S. Department of State or Department of Commerce.
- Maintain close collaboration with program teams to ensure export permits and licenses are in place throughout all contract phases from early data release to final delivery.
- Manage the Export Controls Online (EXCOL) platform including permit applications reporting conditions and advisory opinions.
- Ensure compliance with ITAR EAR Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and the Export and Import Permits Act (EIPA).
- Liaise with Canadian and foreign government agencies and officials exercising tact and professionalism.
- Support other company locations on export control and compliance activities.
- Track and manage Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs) DSP-5s and other export approvals in coordination with PMO.
- Review develop and improve export control and security processes.
- Act as Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) and Designated Official (DO) under Controlled Goods and Industrial Security programs.
- Ensure prevention of unauthorized access to controlled materials including management of segregated IT directories.
- Deliver export controls training to employees across the organization.
- Identify and report compliance risks recommending mitigation strategies.
- Support jurisdiction and classification reviews compliance investigations and other trade-related tasks as required.
- Develop creative compliant solutions to resolve export challenges while supporting business continuity.
Basic Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of experience in export controls or trade compliance.
- University or college degree in International Trade Commerce Law or equivalent relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. export regulations including ITAR EAR CGP and EIPA.
- Understanding of anti-corruption and due diligence principles.
- Strong judgment and ability to resolve complex compliance issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven high-pressure environment.
- Experience or familiarity with space or aerospace technologies is a strong asset.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Secret-level security clearance CGP registration and ITAR authorization.
Compensation:$75000 $105000 CAD (annual salary)
