Your Role asElectricalEngineering Intern
Reporting to theSupervisorofElectricalEngineering Servicesor the Supervisor of Power Systems EngineeringServicestheElectricalEngineering Intern will be working under the guidance and supervision of senior engineers.The successful candidate will work closely withelectricaldesigners andelectricalengineers while performing entry-level engineering work on small and large-scale projects.You willalso executecoordinateandexpeditea succession of different engineering activities as part of capital expenditure projects.
The Electrical Engineering Intern will have the opportunity to work on either our Electrical team supporting the Mining Sector or on our specialized Electrical team within our Mine Hoist Division.
Your Key Accountabilities
- Technical and Documentation
- Assistin the design analysis and implementation ofelectricalsystems ensuring compliance with codes standards and client requirements.
- Conduct site inspections surveys and assessments to gather data for project designs.
- Prepare technical drawings specifications and reports under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Performbasicload calculations and equipmentselectionforelectricalsystems.
- Support troubleshooting and provide technical solutions to complex engineering problems.
- Support QAQC (quality assurance quality control) checks as directed.
- Project Coordinationand Client Management
- Participate in client meetings to gather technical requirements providing insights and solutions as needed.
- Foster relationships with clients by delivering quality workmaintainingprofessionalism and responding to inquiriesin a timely manner.
- Assistproject managers in tracking project timelines budgets and resources to ensure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams suppliers and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Contribute to progress reports meeting minutes and other project documentation.
- Support the review of project milestones and provide input to improve efficiency.
- Provides administrative support to project teams.
Qualifications
- Working towards a diploma or degree inelectricalor power systemsengineeringis with completion of 2 years.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD.
- Proficiencywith Microsoft Office Suites applications.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producinghigh-qualitywork.
- Strong commitment to safety quality and sustainable design practices.
Term:
(40 hours/week)
