Our services include a state-of-the-art psychiatric urgent care center and a soon-to-be-built pediatric behavioral health center outpatient inpatient partial hospitalization (day programs) assessment and testing residential addiction treatment and specialty services such as crisis response employee assistance programs forensic psychiatry and psychology and neuromodulation. On-the-job educational programs for nurses psychologists advanced practice providers psychiatrists and chaplains are equipping the next generation of care providers.

What Will You Do
As a Clinical Nursing Supervisor at Pine Rest youll be part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and the framework of the organizational management philosophy represents organization to organizational constituencies health care institutions governmental agencies regulatory agencies the West Michigan community and other external publics on a limited basis. The Clinical Nursing Supervisor provides initial interface and assistance in dealing with patients leads unit staff in daily tasks and acts as a resource person and/or trainer for staff. Actively participates in the daily tasks of unit staff and shows compassion to recipients of services coworkers and surrounding communities through integrity stewardship empowerment the promotion of diversity and professional Clinical Nursing Supervisors are driven to make an impact in the lives of those we serve and are motivated by the healing they witness first-hand each Clinical Nursing Supervisor isdedicated to excellent customer service enthusiastic about the care we offer and foster a sense of belonging and empowerment in a diverse workplace.
Inpatient Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively participates in performing duties in accordance to the organizational mission acting as a role model for other staff. Oversees Lead Care Providers Care Providers RNs Lead RNs and Unit Coordinators.
Assesses staffing needs and implements staff to patient ratios within the budgetary structure of all units. Provides input to CSM and HAS Director regarding needs.
Maintains the established policies and procedures of the organization and department/unit. Communicates new policies with staff members and ensures that they are followed.
Practices stewardship in utilizing resources.
Assists in the development of and is accountable for the actualization of established strategies plans budgets and other financial matters. Acts as a lead in established performance improvement activities strategies plans customer service initiatives and budget issues. Holds assigned staff accountable for meeting strategies plans and budgets.
Acts as a liaison between patients psychiatric techs families case managers doctors etc.
Acts as a first contact with authority to customers providing information and assistance into problem-solving.
Provides input to Clinical Service Manager and HAS Corporate Director on all issues so that changes and policies can be made to reflect need and practice.
Responsible to fulfill the roles of Clinical Service Manager and Director of Operations during these hours.
Responsible for patient safety (medical and behavioral). Decisions made impact the liability of the organization.
Provides input into staff performance appraisals.
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in field by reading appropriate books journals and other literature and attending related conferences seminars and by completing continuing education units.
Responsible to role model the mission and values of the organization presenting a professional image that is projected in appearance attitudes and behaviors time management and communication skills. Provides spiritual emotional social mental and physical support to patients.
Commitment to demonstrating the Hospital and Acute Services Model of Care.
Hires and trains staff to support the Hospital and Acute Services Model of Care.
Residential Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively demonstrates and promotes the mission values and standards of Pine Rest serving as a role model for staff.
Directs and supports team members delegating and coordinating staff assignments.
Functions as a clinical leader fostering staff development and professional growth.
Supervises and participates in performance improvement initiatives and customer service activities.
Monitors staffing needs for residential programs and recommends adjustments as necessary.
Assesses resident care needs develops individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team and continually evaluates and updates care plans.
Provides and coordinates nursing care for individuals and groups ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
Educates and supports residents families including discharge and aftercare planning.
Documents reports and verifies all required information in compliance with policies and procedures.
Identifies and reports any risks to resident safety to physicians clinical managers or the Director of Nursing.
Creates a resident- and visitor-friendly environment fostering positive relationships with coworkers departments and external partners.
Delivers compassionate resident-centered care across diverse clinical settings and populations.
Participates in the development implementation and review of care protocols and standards of practice.
Promotes careful and efficient use of organizational resources.
Participates in onboarding and training new staff.
Upholds the mission and values of Pine Rest in professional appearance behavior time management and communication.
All Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to provide care/service within the scope of: Holding a conviction to express Christs love and compassion to recipients of services coworkers and surrounding communities through integrity stewardship empowerment the promotion of diversity equity inclusion and professional excellence.
Must maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in the required programmatic training.
Performs other duties or functions as assigned.
What Does This Role Require
Inpatient Education/Experience:
BSN required or minimum of 5 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
Current Michigan RN license required
Must become certified in CPR by the end of New Hire Orientation. Specifically Basic Life Support in the Inpatient programs and CPR/AED/First Aid in all other positions in Residential programs.
Residential Education/Experience:
Current Michigan RN license required
BSN required or minimum of 5 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience at Pine Rest preferred
Proven satisfactory clinical experience
Must become certified in CPR by the end of New Hire Orientation. Specifically Basic Life Support in the Inpatient programs and Residential RNs and CPR/AED/First Aid in all other positions in Residential programs.
