FX Trader

The FX Trader will be responsible for executing and managing proprietary and client-driven foreign exchange trades across multiple African currencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in FX trading particularly in frontier and emerging markets within Africa and will bring a strategic mindset strong risk management acumen and a deep understanding of the financial and political dynamics affecting currency volatility in the region.

Required Skills:

• Execute spot forward and swap FX trades across various African currencies including but not limited to NGN GHS ZAR KES XOF and XAF.
• Monitor market trends economic indicators geopolitical developments and central bank policies relevant to African FX markets.
• Manage proprietary positions and ensure optimal pricing and execution strategies for client trades.
• Provide real-time market insights and currency forecasts to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local and international counterparties liquidity providers and brokers.
• Ensure strict adherence to internal risk limits and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Generate and present regular trade reports P&L summaries and market analysis updates.
• Collaborate with the research risk and finance teams to align trading strategies with broader business objectives.
