- Pine Ridge IHS Hospital Pine Ridge SD
- Kyle Health Center Kyle SD
- Wanblee Health Center Wanblee SD
- LaCreek Health Center Martin SD
- Mobile Clinic / Community Outreach
- Pine Ridge Jail (as required)
Duration: 3-month contract with the possibility of extension
Shift Schedule: Shifts vary based on clinic operational needs including:
- Day Shift: 08:00 AM 04:30 PM (8 hours)
- Extended Day Shift: 08:30 AM 07:00 PM (10 hours)
- Evening Shift: 10:30 AM 07:00 PM (8 hours)
- Sunday / Holiday Clinic: 10:00 AM 06:30 PM (8 hours)
Evenings weekends and holidays may be required
Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks
How Many Shifts Needed per Month: Approximately 160 hours per month (80 hours per 2-week pay period)
License:
- Active unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in any U.S. State or Territory
Certifications:
- American Heart Association BLS Required
- American Heart Association ACLS Required
- American Heart Association PALS Required
Experience Needed:
- Minimum 2 years ambulatory / outpatient nursing experience
Special Skills Needed:
- Independent nursing assessment and care planning
- Medication and immunization administration (all routes)
- IV therapy venipuncture catheter placement and care
- Wound care including complex and VAC dressings
- Emergency response (CPR cardiac arrest anaphylaxis)
- Patient education and chronic disease management
- Proficiency with EHR systems (RPMS/EHR preferred)
- Cultural sensitivity when working with Native American populations
- Ability to float across clinics and service areas as needed
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct outpatient nursing care to patients of all ages
- Perform comprehensive assessments reassessments and care planning
- Administer medications vaccines and treatments per provider orders
- Perform wound care IV placement catheter care and POC testing
- Support specialty clinics mobile clinics and community outreach
- Respond to medical emergencies and initiate life-saving measures
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EHR systems
- Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards
- Coordinate care with providers and interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor operate and maintain clinical equipment and supplies
