Qualifications:

We are looking for a software engineer with a passion for problem solving to join our team and help design build and support our enterprise financial data and modeling ecosystem. We build solutions on the AWS cloud platform with integrations into Enterprise grade systems that enable our actuarial and finance community. The team works in an Agile environment heavily utilizing DevOps practices. Associates or bachelors degree preference in a computer science technology engineering or math-related field or equivalent experience

Ability to obtain certification(s) in an IT related field is a plus

Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred

Basic planning organizational problem-solving analytical decision-making and communication skills required

Proficiency with database applications knowledge of mainframe distributed and/or web programming language

Excellent time management skills preferred

Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality

Must have the desire and ability to learn new technology and continuously grow

Ability to work on cross-functional teams and collaborate with both IT and non-IT partners

Additional preferred technical experience/skills:

Experience with AWS cloud platform e.g. AWS CDK DynamoDB Lambda Glue

Exposure to full stack web development e.g. JS/Typescript/React/

Version control tooling (Git/GitHub actions)

Ability to write SQL queries and interpret data models

Traditional and NOSQL data stores such as S3

Familiarity with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines test-driven development etc.

Strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities:

Design and implement reliable and efficient data-pipelines and web applications and analytic solutions in AWS.

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that test and deploy software data and infrastructure artifacts across managed environments.

Integrate data from a variety of systems into refined data products available to the rest of the enterprise.

Collaborate with highly skilled and motivated product-focused individuals.

Work directly with financial stakeholders to optimize solutions and architect new ones to meet functional and non-functional requirements.

Experiment with new technologies and practices to find creative solutions to complex problems.

Work with partners and solutions across a global community.

Contribute to a large cloud community across Principal and potentially outside

AWS certifications aligned to various technology roles
