Job Title: Ammonia Refrigeration Technician
Location: Valdosta Georgia
Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect structures to avoid damage during piping installation
- Work from sketches and blueprints to meet code standards
- Test equipment for flow pressures and temperatures of steam water and gases
- Maintain tools and machinery in good condition
- Maintain adjust and repair boilers heating cooling and ammonia refrigeration systems
- Drill holes and install mounting brackets and hangers
- Align and install components using screws bolts rivets welding and brazing
- Cut thread and connect pipes to power and water systems
- Pump specified gas or fluid into systems
- Start and monitor system operations; adjust valves controls and pumps
- Troubleshoot dismantle and repair malfunctioning systems
- Replace or repair defective parts and insulate system components
- Install wiring and connect to power sources
- Communicate effectively with management regarding task status and issues
- Maintain daily task schedules and respond to service call-ins
- Provide professional service with minimal supervision
- Adhere to safety food safety quality and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations
- Report safety or quality concerns to the appropriate authority
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 3 years of related industrial experience
Certificates and Licenses:
- Ammonia Certification (required)
- Valid Drivers License (required)
- EPA Proper Refrigerant Usage Certification (preferred)
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to operate forklifts man lifts and mobile carts
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effective communication in one-on-one and small group settings
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to perform basic math: addition subtraction multiplication division
- Ability to compute rates ratios and percentages
- Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to follow instructions in written oral or diagram form
- Ability to resolve issues involving several concrete variables in standard situations
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing walking and use of hands
- Occasional sitting reaching kneeling crouching crawling and speaking
- Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs
- Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Frequent exposure to heights and airborne particles
