We are looking for an enthusiastic and high performingSpecialist Mining Engineerto join our Mine Development Studies team within Technical Services.

Working within a highly experienced team with the support of industry leading systems and processes you will be responsible for:

Medium to long term mine planning support to our Pilbara operations and studies (Conceptual Order of Magnitude Pre-feasibility and Feasibility)

Mine design and optimisation include rehabilitation and closure design

Strategic pit and dump development strategy

Mine scheduling and sequencing (medium to long-term/life of mine)

Approval and resource development coordination

Support to Ore Reserve estimation and reporting

Assist with ongoing improvement initiatives

You will be given opportunities to learn and grow as a technical professional.

About You

To succeed in this role you will have:

Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent

7 years of relevant experience in mine planning and engineering

Demonstrated experience in medium to long-term mine planning and scheduling mine optimisation and design from concepts to implementation including closure-related planning in a large open pit mining environment

High degree of computer literacy and proficiency in mine planning optimisation design and scheduling software (Vulcan/Deswik/Datamine Whittle/DeswikGo ATS or equivalent)

Strong understanding of the fundamental concepts that underpin value in the mining industry

Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders

A current C Class drivers licence is required

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on a challenge and is willing to be creative when solving technical will also be beneficial if you have:

Experience in large-scale surface mining operations with strong operational and fleet experience

Involvement in mining studies (Conceptual Order of Magnitude Pre-feasibility and Feasibility)

Strategic/life of mine scheduling experience
