Inova Fairfax Hospital/Inova Childrens Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation Team is seeking a PEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST to join our multidisciplinary pediatric outpatient rehabilitation team! Ideal candidate has experience treating outpatient pediatrics but will consider candidates with strong student clinicals in outpatient pediatrics and strong desire to specialize in outpatient pediatrics. Position is for 4 10-hour days (Tues-Friday) no weekend or holiday requirement.

Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:

  • Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
  • Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients responses to treatment actual performance and an assessment as to status relevant to the treatment plan and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
  • Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment progress toward goals discharge needs recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
  • Communicates effectively with patients families medical staff care team members students supervisors and outside contacts.
  • Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients level of understanding and motivation.
  • Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines adjusting the treatment plan as needed.



Occupational Therapist Minimum Requirements:

Certification - Basic Life Support upon start (Must be thru the American Heart Association)

Licensure - Occupational Therapist Upon Start

VA License

Education - Bachelors Degree Occupational Therapy - Masters Preferred

Preferred experience- at least a year in a Pediatric outpatient center
