| Job Description: | The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor in the Adult Division. This position is a key component of our strategic research mission in neuroscience and psychiatry with a focus on advancing translational research in brain organoid models to better understand psychiatric disorders and develop innovative therapeutic approaches. The successful candidate will integrate research education and clinical service. Responsibilities include fostering collaboration between clinical and research teams mentoring trainees and contributing to patient care through research-driven insights. This role may also include providing clinical services to include outpatient care and inpatient call duties as part of the Adult Divisions clinical service. Key Responsibilities: Research Responsibilities - Conduct and lead translational research in brain organoid models to advance neuroscience and psychiatry.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate research findings into clinical practice.
- Mentor and educate residents fellows and graduate students.
- Publish scholarly work and pursue extramural funding to support research programs.
- Participate in departmental service and academic activities.
Clinical Responsibilities - Provide psychiatric care for adult patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Participate in the Adult Divisions inpatient call rotation.
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations medication management and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Integrate research findings into clinical practice where applicable.
- Supervise and mentor psychiatry residents medical students and other healthcare trainees in clinical settings.
