Te Kōwhiringa The Opportunity
Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice. This involves the proactive management and delivery to the national portfolio of facilities including 15 prisons 100 courts and 157 community correctional sites. This contract underpins the provision of availability of facilities to support core Government services.
You will work in a robust environment undertaking of scheduled maintenance first response and reactive activities to mitigate disruption to the customers activities and business all while ensuring safe working practices are implemented and take corrective actions where required.
Prisons are sometimes challenging work environments so you must be confident and able to conduct yourself professionally at all times. You will also understand the 24/7 nature of a prison site and be prepared to sometimes manage jobs and situations after hours.
