Job Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and electronic faults in vehicles including starting charging lighting and ignition systems. Install repair and maintain automotive electrical systems and components such as batteries alternators starters and wiring harnesses. Use diagnostic scanners multimeters and oscilloscopes to read fault codes and analyze live data. Repair and program Engine Control Units (ECUs) and other electronic control modules. Install and troubleshoot aftermarket accessories like car audio systems alarms GPS trackers and reverse cameras. Inspect and repair issues related to airbags ABS and other safety and comfort systems. Perform electrical repairs on hybrid and electric vehicle systems following high-voltage safety protocols. Replace fuses relays sensors and switches as needed. Follow vehicle-specific wiring diagrams and technical service bulletins. Provide accurate estimates and explanations of repairs to customers or service advisors.
