Position Purpose:Cumberland Universitys Oakley School for the HumanitiesEducation andthe Arts is seeking applicants demonstrating successful and active professionalpractice knowledge of oral and written Spanish ability to tailorlesson plans to students course and program planning and excellencein the creation and teaching of appropriate assignments for Spanishlanguage learners at an undergraduate level. This position will enhanceprogram strength course offerings and student opportunities inthe school under the supervision of the Dean. Successful candidate willshow ability to design and assess curriculum plans that fosterrigorous student learning and engagement while enhancing the necessaryskills required in adult learners in the field of Spanish.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to communicate well with students and other faculty members
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of concepts in the Spanish language and various cultural aspects
• Be proficient in both oral and written Spanish
• Engage in class and student assessment while maintaining all necessary paperwork and records based on school requirements
• Evidence of high level of personal agency and initiative
• Demonstrate organizational skills for curriculum management and program design including analysis of data for continuous improvement
• Possess ability to contribute positively to a dynamic setting with collaborative faculty

Experience:

• Two or more years teaching experience in Spanish
• Documentation of successful experience as an undergraduate professor or post-secondary teacher and preferable to have leadership experiences and displayed work in the field
• Experience and networking in the Middle Tennessee region preferred but not necessary

Education:Ph.D. preferred by MA accepted
