DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION:
The nurse supervisor will be responsible for staff management and coordination of all activities for the scheduled working shift in accordance with established philosophy objectives and policies of the hospital to ensure safe efficient and therapeutic patient care. The House Supervisor will relate effectively with other shifts and department leaders for continuity of care and services and is the Administration representative while on shift. The House Supervisor adheres to Amberwell Health cultural competencies and principles of servant leadership in all aspects of job performance.
Nurse supervisor duties may include but are not limited to:
- Manages activities patient care and the execution of hospital policies during the scheduled shift.
- Reviews staffing patterns verifies attendance and assists with staffing coverage as needed.
- Informs departmental leaders of staff activities needs problems and unusual events.
- Investigates and reports complaints from patients visitors and employees.
- Monitor and facilitate patient flow in and out of the hospital.
- Guiding and advising clinical staff with clinical instructions
- Communicating with patients nurses other healthcare professionals family members and visitors
QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience:
- Minimum required experience: Demonstrates the skills knowledge and abilities of an effective leader. 2 year hospital clinical experience required.
- Preferred experience: 5 years experience working in an acute care setting previous supervisor experience preferred.
- Education:
- Minimum required education: ADN
- Preferred education: BSN
- Certifications/License:
- Minimum required: Registered Nurse in Kansas or multi-state compact license BLS ACLS PALS NRP TNCC STABLE
- Preferred certifications: Professional certification in clinical specialty
