Compensation:In accordance with California law the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

About theProgram:Residential Treatment Program (STRTP): This short-term residential therapeutic program provides services to pregnant parenting and at-risk young women (and their children) ages 13-18 in the foster care and/or juvenile justice system. These youth are typically placed by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) or Probation Department.

Role Summary:Responsible for monitoring supervising and guiding the residents in their daily routine. Provides a healthy therapeutic and safe environment for residents and their children in their direct care.

  • Schedule:
    • 7:00am to 4:00pm
    • 3:00pm to 12:00am
    • 11:00pm to 8:00am

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision protection and care of residents individually and in groups at all time.
  • Provide assistance to each resident in working with a group and in handling individual problems.
  • Administer discipline and setting of limits for behavior.
  • Document residents progress; identify possible need for professional services; communicate such findings to professional staff.
  • Ensure safety of residents while transporting to and from appointments as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality as required by St. Annes licensing HIPAA and other regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • Must meet one of the following:
    • Bachelors Degree in Social Work Psychology or related degree
    • Have obtained a valid Child Development Teaching Permit.
    • Have completed 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education Adolescent Development Foster and Kinship Care Education or Psychology and have completed at least 100 hours of on-the-job experience working with youth.
    • Have a valid certificate as an Alcohol Counselor Drug Counselor or Alcohol and Drug Counselor and have completed at least 100 hours of on-the-job experience working with youth.
    • Have a valid vocational training certificate credential or documentation demonstrating that the individual is a trade journeyperson who instructs children in vocational skills and have at least 100 hours of experience working with youth as a mentor athletic coach teacher vocational coach tutor counselor or other relevant experience as determined by the department.
    • Previously been employed as a full-time staff or served as a volunteer at a group home short-term residential therapeutic program or substance abuse treatment program for at least one year.
    • Have relevant life experience in the child welfare mental health or juvenile justice systems as a consumer mentor or caregiver or life experience with children who have experienced high levels of trauma or other relevant experience as determined by the department.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California Drivers License and a driving record acceptable to the agencys insurance carrier.
