The Vice-President Fraud Management is responsible for all aspects of fraud management (from strategy planning to execution) across all business units and client groups. This position leads the integrated response required to protect CIBC clients employees and stakeholders from fraud.
This role is responsible for the overarching enterprise Fraud Management strategy impacting all client-facing channels; this includes assessing fraud risk client authentication fraud analytics managing and mitigating a complex portfolio of fraud losses and enhancing fraud capabilities for CIBC.
The leader collaborates with senior leadership on enterprise-wide financial crime and fraud strategies policies and communications; aggregates threat intelligence and other research to inform strategy; and provides standardized financial crimes and fraud management reporting training compliance and vendor management.

What Youll be Doing
Lead the development implementation and measurement of medium and long term fraud strategies designed to control and mitigate fraud losses.
Serve as strategic partner to the business in aligning and enhancing our systems processes and practices with current and future financial crime trends to help safeguard against risks.
Lead fraud capability build and transformation initiatives to reduce future exposure operational losses. This includes collaborating with CIBC business partners to implement controls to prevent monitor detect and respond to fraud.
Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Fraud Operations & Investigations team driving operational excellence optimizing team performance and ensuring the highest standards of effectiveness and efficiency in fraud management.
Lead and oversee the Client Authentication team developing and executing a comprehensive long-term strategy to safeguard CIBC accounts and proactively protect clients against emerging fraud threats.
Creating a comprehensive strategy for fraud analytics to present fraud loss forecast information to executive level partners in the context of broader industry and economic trends to build support and understanding for the function.
Lead ongoing monitoring and measurement of business risk exposure to proactively recommend mitigating strategies and initiatives.
Serve as internal and external thought leader on fraud management.
Act as steward and advisor to the business on all aspects of security and financial crimes providing senior executive management a clear view of the financial crime landscape and timely recommendations on current and emerging areas of threats based on fact-based intelligence and analytics aggregate monitoring case management and insights from internal and external partners.
Liaise with external stakeholders including but not limited to law enforcement government bodies and peer financial institutions to evolve the function and partner with internal corporate communications to share updates with external media as required. Ensure compliance with all policies and guidelines relating to fraud management.
Provide leadership for the Fraud Investigations ensuring effective and efficient service delivery and a positive client experience.
What Were Looking For
Extensive knowledge of the Financial Services industry and related financial crimes trends with solid experience as a senior and strategic leader within a large organization and has worked across several channels and segments.
Proven ability in driving change initiatives which create improvements efficiencies and differentiation in an organizations market position.
Expert service delivery knowledge coupled with the ability to translate client needs at all levels into complete solutions.
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally to drive transformational change initiatives.
Innovative and conceptual thinker with advanced analytical interpretation and problem solving abilities and strong ability to develop compelling vision to support strategic objectives.
