Job Purpose |
The Manuacturing Supervisor I leads a team to meet production goals while maintaining safety quality and delivery standards. The role promotes employee engagement through training coaching and continuous development in a clean and organized work environment. It also involves monitoring performance metrics adjusting resources and ensuring compliance with safety and quality systems to drive operational excellence. |
Duties & Responsibilities |
People
- Work with department personnel and request an appropriate headcount as needed to support customer demand and schedule attainment.
- Ensure personnel have the proper training & tools necessary to perform the job.
- Utilize coaching sessions and disciplinary actions as needed to optimize team.
- Ensure cross training for every workstation.
- Drive employee engagement.
- Provide continuous learning opportunities for employees.
- Maintain monitor and approve attendance in Paycom
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
Safety
- Promote 5S to ensure cleanliness and part presentation.
- Monitor PPE adherence safety equipment and tools.
- Report issues to responsible parties.
- Ensure employees know how to access JSAs.
Quality
- Non-conforming material is processed timely and analyze trend for parts damaged during assembly.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods equipment performance and quality products communicate with support team to execute changes.
- Perform duties in accordance with the current Quality and Safety Management System.
Delivery
- Assessing schedule attainment needs and making necessary adjustments.
- Fulfill the total amount of units to be built or processed in accordance with the production plan.
Cost
- Identify high-cost centers.
- Assures maximum efficiency and productivity of employees with respect to production volumes cost quality and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
Department specialization - Assembly
- Monitor production hour by hour board and adjust personnel as needed to meet customer demand.
- Review first pass yield (FPY) and work with team on countermeasures to prevent.
- Review assembly dispatches to ensure delivery schedules are met
- Coordinate with support departments (OpEx scheduling etc.) to ensure line balance and flow
- Ability to read and understand assembly BOM
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and wiring schematics
- Ability to understand and follow parts replenishments (kanban min-max kitting etc.)

- Knowledge of production operations scheduling and resource planning.
- Understanding of safety protocols including PPE and 5S standards.
- Familiarity with quality systems such as First Pass Yield (FPY) and non-conformance processes.
