This position is well suited for someone with a friendly and positive personality who is productive and shows initiative is an effective written and oral communicator is reliable and safety-minded.
Required: Professional certification required (i.e. ACE AFAA). General knowledge and understanding of proper exercise techniques and habits. The group fitness instructor must have the ability to effectively educate and demonstrate to participants these techniques and habits. Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain certification within 30 days of hire. Maintain DCFS mandated reporter certificate or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred: Prefer a high school diploma or equivalent. Prefer work experience in the fitness related field and previous experience instructing fitness activities

Under the supervisor of the Superintendent of Recreation and the Assistant Superintendent of Recreation Norris Recreation Center the Group Fitness Instructor shall complete their assigned duties to the best of their abilities offering suggestions of better ways to accomplish jobs and be ever mindful of the best interests of the St. Charles Park District and of fellow employees.
