Description-Program provides support for instruction to students to maintain identified maintenance of reading writing math and social skill IEP specific goals for students K-12. High school diploma required. The program runs June 29-July 30 every Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30AM-12:00PM for students and 8:15AM-12:15PM for staff. Compensation will be TBD per contract.
Duties Include:
ESY Special education assistants provide functional and academic support to students under the direction of the special education teacher. This includes
- Supporting the adaptive/functional and self-help skills of students.
- Supporting special education teachers in the implementation of the instructional teaching content delivered per IEP identified skills/needs.
- Communicating and collaborating with students staff and other professionals during the program.
- Taking data as directed by the special education teacher to support the communicating of student maintenance of skills.
- Implement student positive behavior support plans
- Support the adaptive/functional needs of students.
- Participate in any training to support student needs.

Physical Requirements: Sedentary Light work Medium work Heavy work Very heavy work
Sedentary: involves sitting most of the time. Incumbents should be able to exert up to 10 lbs of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift carry push pull or move objects.
Light work: If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the individual sits most of the time the job is rated for light work. The incumbent should be able to exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Medium work: The incumbent should be able to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
Heavy work: The incumbent should be able to exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently and/or up to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
Very heavy work: The incumbent should be able to exert in excess of 100 lbs of force occasionally and in excess of 50 lbs of force frequently and in excess of 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
