Description

Ward Feed Yard in Larned KS is seeking a full-time maintenance mechanic.

Summary: Responsible for vehicle and equipment routine maintenance and repairs and inventory control for supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
Maintain maintenance records and schedules.
Audit daily maintenance records on rolling stock i.e. feed trucks pickups heavy equipment.
Maintain inventory control of supplies tools fuel and oil.
Maintain housekeeping in the shop area.
Comply with all OSHA/Safety procedures rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement volume and distance.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
