Primary Objective
The Ophthalmic Imaging Technician provides clinical support to Providers through the delivery of high quality compassionate visual imaging and diagnostic services to CEENTAs patients.

Clinical Competencies
Working knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering routine and special treatments to patients in the applicable clinical areas.
Training Period
Epic training equipment training and 6-8 weeks of on-the-job training with current staff and the Ophthalmic Clinical Services Trainer.

The Ophthalmic Imaging Technician directly impacts CEENTAs ability to achieve its mission as they play an integral role in patient care delivery providing high quality compassionate visual imaging and diagnostic services to CEENTAs patients.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an International Council of Accreditation (ICA) accredited clinical training program OR completion of anInternational Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO)or American Academy ofOphthalmology(AAO)independent study course preferred.
Experience
One to three years experience in ophthalmic or optometric imaging or other related experience preferred.
Certificates Licenses Registrations
Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification from the IJCAHPO andor Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT-C) certification from the Ophthalmic Photographers Society (OPS) Board of Certification (BOC) preferred.

The Ophthalmic Imaging Technicianfunctionsin amulti-specialty clinic with high patient volume. This role may be exposed to contagious or infectious diseases and therefore may be required to wear personal protective equipment at times. This position routinely uses standard medical office equipment as well as standard medicaldiagnosticequipment.
Supervision
This position reports to the Operations Supervisor/Manager Ophthalmic Clinical Services with clinical oversight from the Provider(s).
The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with core hours Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Hours are subject to variation based upon clinic needs.

A typical day for the OphthalmicImaging Technicianinvolves collaborating with Providerstodeliverhigh quality compassionate visual imaging and diagnostic services to CEENTAs patients. The OphthalmicImaging Techniciangreets patients with a warm welcoming smile as they escort them to thetesting performan array ofvisual imaging and diagnostic testing including but not limited toVisual Field Testing Keratometry Fundus Photography Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Manual and Automated Lensometry Angiography and other advanced duties which includeclinical room turnover/set-upequipment sterilizationscheduling appointments indexing faxes and other documents and monitoringwork queuesin the EHR system.
