Position Location: Dawson Creek BC

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeymen certificate
• Red Seal certification is considered an asset
  
• Can complete a CVIP inspection
• 4-6 years experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic preferably with semi-truck and trailer experience (hydraulic repairs and diesel engine repair)
• Class 5 License with a clean drivers abstract
• Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
• Current and up to date first-aid and H2S alive safety certificates is an asset
• A valid class 1 or 3 drivers license is considered an asset
  

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform maintenance troubleshooting repairs and inspections on heavy truck and trailer equipment in the shop and in the field.

  • Wiring and light problems
  • Electrical diagnostics
  • Air system
  • Wheels
  • Brakes
  • Clutches
  • and steering components etc.

• Complete required documentation and reporting for inspections and repairs
• Prepare work orders/cost estimates for service approval
• Conduct all job responsibilities in accordance with Vertex HSE standards guidelines and rules
