Painting Technician (66791)

Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

REPORTS TO:

Foreman / Superintendent

DUTIES

Applies paint varnishes and stains and removes and mixes paint. Also maintains painting on buildings and woodwork.

PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Familiar with a variety of concepts practices and procedures within the painting field.

Has knowledge of commonly used materials and supplies.

Works under minimum supervision. Requires a certain degree of creativity and latitude.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Performs a variety of complicated tasks related to preparation and finish work.

Requires excellent communication skills (written / verbal / reading).

Able to lift and hold / move 100 pounds.

Able to climb ladders (up and down including extension ladder) scaffolding and roofs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and/or board of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages rations and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of on concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS:

Working knowledge and experience with project plans specifications construction industry standards and building codes.
