POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fire Protection Project Manager New Construction is responsible for managing fire sprinkler construction projects from contract award through final turnover. This role has full accountability for scope schedule budget quality and client coordination with a strong emphasis on Procore as the primary project management platform. This position reports to the Commercial Operations Manager.
This position is strictly focused on new construction projects. A background in fire protection systems (sprinkler fire alarm suppression or related life safety systems) is considered a strong asset and supports effective coordination with field teams engineers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
New Construction Project Delivery
Manage fire protection new construction projects from kickoff through closeout
Develop and maintain project schedules manpower plans and construction sequencing
Coordinate procurement of materials equipment and subcontractors
Proactively manage scope change risk and constructability issues
Lead project kickoff meetings coordination meetings and progress reviews
Procore Management & Documentation
Act as the primary Procore administrator for assigned construction projects
Manage drawings RFIs submittals change events meeting minutes and project records
Track budgets commitments cost forecasts and change orders in Procore
Ensure real-time project visibility and accurate documentation
Enforce Procore standards and best practices across project teams
Financial & Contract Management
Manage project budgets cost controls and margin performance
Prepare price negotiate and track change orders and extras
Review progress billings and subcontractor invoices
Identify scope gaps contract risks and recovery opportunities
Support monthly forecasting and financial reporting
Field Coordination & Quality Control
Coordinate closely with Road Supervisors Superintendents and site teams
Ensure installation aligns with drawings specifications and applicable codes
Support inspections with AHJs engineers and consultants
Track deficiencies and ensure timely corrective actions
Promote quality workmanship and accountability on site
Safety & Compliance
Support company safety programs and site-specific safety requirements
Ensure compliance with OH&S regulations and GC safety policies
Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions
Reinforce a safety-first culture throughout construction activities
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors and clients
Provide regular updates on schedule cost and construction progress to Commercial Operations Manager
Manage expectations and resolve issues professionally
Build strong working relationships with clients consultants and trade partners
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
2 -5 years of construction project management experience (new construction required)
Proven proficiency in Procore (required)
Fire protection construction experience considered a strong asset
Experience delivering commercial residential or institutional construction projects
Strong understanding of construction contracts drawings and specifications
Journeyperson or technical trade background considered an asset
