The Work

The AML/ATF department within Complianceis responsible forthe management of the Banks AML/ATF risk through the implementation and monitoring of effective is a multi-faceted one as responsibilities include conductingreview of alerts generated by the transaction monitoring systemsassistin the submission of STRs and EFTRs in the F2R portalmaintainingtraining and administrative records and providing support to the AML team and the business units. The environment is often fast-paced and requires the effective time management of multiple tasks and projects.

The Core Responsibilities!

    • Conduct a review andadjudicatealerts generated by the internal transaction monitoring systems.
    • Conduct monitoring and testing routines of existing internal controls designed to detect unusual/suspicious activities and test for adherence to the Banks AML/ATF policies and procedures.
    • Consolidatedata across various sources to analyze results and offer solutions to streamline future reporting whererequired.
    • Work with the stakeholders andassistin the preparation and filing of reports to the regulator within defined timelines andin accordance withEquitable Banks policies and procedures.
    • Support the AML team with the regulatory record keeping duties tomaintainthe effectiveness of the Banks AML/ATF Compliance Program and the integrity of data reported to the CAMLO Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
    • Proactivelyidentifybest practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Identifyand provide recommendation(s) on areas of improvement to close gaps to the Manager.
    • Communicate and work with business units to resolve identified gaps.
    • Personally responsible and accountable forself-developmentandmaintainingup to date knowledge best practices and skills relevant for the role.
    • Provide support forthe planningcoordinationand executionof AML/ATF projects asrequired.
    • Assist the Manager inrespondingto inquiries and liaise with the Business Units as directed.
    • Review EFT reports daily todetermineif EFT reporting isrequiredto FINTRAC in F2R.

Lets Talk About You!

    • Post-secondary education (diploma/degree).
    • Minimum of1 to3 years experience in the financial to regulatory compliance risk managementdisciplinesand best practices.
    • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for AML/ATF and sanction systemsindustrybest practices and/or organizational goals for AML/ATF systems and recommend continuous improvements to processes and tools to meet these requirements.
    • Analysis testing and/orpreviousAML/ATF name screening EFTreviewand mortgage lending experience considered an asset.
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (WordExceland PowerPoint) and internet/web navigation.
    • Strong analytical and research skills; ability to organize and bring order to data and information drawing conclusions and makingappropriate recommendations.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines.
    • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond in a clearconciseand professional manner.
    • Bilingualism is an asset (English and French).
