Job Summary

Transaction Storage & Config (TSC) team is looking for a System Development Engineer to enable the movement of critical Amazon data allowing business service workloads to operate regions of their choice. The end-state architecture will enable services to break region coupling while retaining the ability to keep critical business functions within a region. This architecture will improve customer latency through local affinity to compute resources and reduce the blast radius in case of region failures. We are looking for System Development engineers with a strong sense of ownership and passion for delivering efficiency initiatives of our services building tools infrastructure maintenance and engaging with stakeholders to create significant impact on our systems. If you feel excited by the challenge of setting the course for large company wide initiatives developing efficient solutions and building tools or applications this may be the next big career move for you. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented have good verbal and written communication skills organizational skills able to juggle multiple tasks at once able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure. You must be able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages. You must be able to accurately prioritize projects make sound judgments work to improve the customer experience and get the right things done.

About the team
The Transactional Storage and Config (TSC) organization supports the Amazon builders by providing technologies for Transaction Storage high cardinality configuration storages and safe movement of Amazon Data. Our projects support Amazon businesses like Stores Alexa Kindle and Prime Video. We drive adoption of ever-evolving AWS and non-AWS technologies and work closely with AWS teams to improve AWS public offerings. Our organization focuses on robust and scalable solutions simple to use and delivered with engineering best practices. We leverage and build foundational infrastructure capabilities tools and datasets that enable Amazon teams to delight our customers. With millions of people using Amazons products every day we appreciate the importance of making our solutions just work.

- Experience in automating deploying and supporting infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python Ruby Golang Java C C# Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
