Who were looking for

Toyotas North American Production Engineering department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Production Engineer to work in the Powertrain Department.

The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare coordinate manufacturing equipment to support new model launches as well as unit plant competitiveness.

This position will be located at TMMK Powertrain in Georgetown KY and report to the Engineering Manager on site.

The person in this role will support the departments objective to execute Capital Projects from planning thru Handshake after the Start of Production (SOP).

What youll be doing

  • Developing process plans for production lines within the powertrain department with direct support from the Manager.

  • Directly supporting other engineers or technicians through mentorship.

  • Leading the cost planning budget creation machine specification procurement validation installation pre-productions trials and launch of production lines.

  • Creating and maintaining detail schedule and budget for assigned area.

  • Participate in cross functional working groups across the local facility and corporate departments to achieve project goals.

  • Participate in a mentor program to grow as an engineer and learn from others within the department.

  • Construction / Equipment installations

What you bring

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field or 5 years of automotive engineering experience

  • Experience in production preparation of manufacturing/assembly and experience in execution of capital projects.

  • Experience creating and implementing processes in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with detailed schedule creation and utilization for capital projects greater than $500K

  • CAD experience including the ability to read interpret and modify 2D drawings

  • Ability to support weekends off shift and holidays as needed

  • Ability to work plant scheduled shutdown times each year (July/December)

  • Ability for business travel both domestic and international

Added bonus if you have

  • Toyota Production Engineering experience in Powertrain Assembly/Machining Paint Welding or Stamping

  • PLC or Robotic Systems experience including the ability to investigate and troubleshoot (3 years year Preferred)

  • Experience and/or exposure to powertrain manufacturing processes

  • Experience and/or exposure to Toyota Business Practices problem solving

  • Equipment installation and validation
