LSSMN is the largest professional provider of Guardianship and Conservatorship in the state of Minnesota! As a Guardian Intern you will assist carrying out the duties of court appointed Guardian and/or ensure care for vulnerable adults in the Guardianship Options Program. Advocate for individuals for least restrictive life choices that enable them to live full and abundant lives.
Assist with Medical Assistance Applications
Assist with MAARC reports as needed.
Attend Guardianship Court Appointment Hearings
Assist guardians with eFiling annual reports
Assist with clients personal and health care decisions. This can include attending medical therapy treatment support vocational and other service appointments and care conferences.
Work as a member of the support team to ensure appropriate living environment and services are being addressed.
Monthly travel to visit clients and attend team meetings throughout the month.
Assist with substitute decision-making regarding medical emergencies and other sudden changes in clients situation
Remain in close contact and consultation with the Mankato Guardianship team
Maintain Up to date documentation of mail and client communication in SEMs navigate electronic/paper filing systems manage emails and work with supervisor on client reviews.

Two years experience with similar client populations and needs
Valid drivers license
Previous lived experience in making clear and unbiased thinking and decision-making skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment regarding best interest of client
Extreme detail attention to communications accurate and timely documentation and billings.
The successful candidate must be cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study and have a drivers license; a Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) is required.
