Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is seeking motivated talented Lean Process Engineer (Lead or Senior) to join the Precision Engagement Systems (PES) team located in Saint Charles MO.

As a part of the Space Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) organization Precision Engagement Systems (PES) is a dynamic and growing team with leadership that is focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missiles Systems (CMS) programs. Connected to our customers missions we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent. The programs we support in Saint Charles MO include Direct Attack weapons (JDAM SDB MOP HAAWC and associated derivatives) and Cruise Missiles (SLAM ER Harpoon and development weapons) utilized on various military aircraft some ground-based platforms and other future contract awards.

In this position you will touch all Direct Attack and Cruise Missile System Programs working closely with engineering finance and lean organizations to mature our business units Lean program. You will be responsible for maturing the framework that enables our workforce to Think Lean identify opportunities execute and document the value created for our internal and external stakeholders. You will mentor others through their projects develop new mentors while also leading larger initiatives for the this role you will drive culture throughout the business unit while engraining Lean methodologies into day-to-day work.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead & Manage Business Units Lean Program

  • Lean Training Workforce Development Plan

  • Manage Internal/External Lean Certification Process

  • Lead High-Impact Lean Projects for the Organization

  • Develop Standardized Processes Procedures & Lean Tool Templates

  • Cost Savings Realization

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

  • 5 years of experience in product lifecycle process engineering within aerospace or a related industry

  • Proven expertise in developing implementing and optimizing manufacturing and assembly processes

  • Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and methodologies

  • Experience with process improvement techniques such as Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with design manufacturing and quality organizations

  • Proficient in analyzing process data and metrics to drive efficiency and quality improvements

  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards relevant to aerospace manufacturing

  • Excellent problem-solving communication and project management skills

  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians

  • Experience leading improvement projects to achieve significant realized cost savings

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Engineering or a related technical discipline

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt or Green Belt) or other process improvement methodologies

  • Level 5: 10 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Summary pay range for Lead (Level 4): $117300.00 $158700.00

Summary pay range for Senior (Level 5): $146200.00 $197800.00
