Position Overview
The School-Based Occupational Therapist provides in-person occupational therapy services to students in a K8 educational setting. The therapist collaborates with educators administrators and families to support students functional academic and developmental needs in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs) and applicable educational regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver direct occupational therapy services to K8 students in a school environment
Evaluate students fine motor sensory processing self-care and functional skills
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with educational goals
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
Document evaluations progress notes and treatment outcomes in compliance with school and state guidelines
Collaborate with teachers and staff to support classroom-based interventions
Provide recommendations for adaptive equipment environmental modifications and strategies to enhance student participation
Monitor student progress and adjust therapy interventions as needed
Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements and educational standards
Qualifications
Active Washington State Occupational Therapist license (required)
Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification (required)
Experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Strong communication and documentation skills
