Job Summary

Job Summary
The Grinding Operator Bench Grind is responsible for operating CNC and manual grinding equipment in a precision manufacturing environment. This role supports the production of close-tolerance components by following established procedures maintaining quality standards and performing inspections using a variety of measuring tools and vision systems. The operator will also perform secondary operations and assist with general departmental tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC grinding equipment including centerless (infeed and thrufeed) surface and wire grinding machines to meet quality and productivity requirements. Follow work instructions prints and operation sequences to produce parts within specification. Monitor machine performance during operation and identify abnormal conditions or malfunctions. Ensure proper coolant flow lubrication and machine setup throughout the grinding process. Perform daily equipment and tool maintenance and complete ERP system transactions accurately. Maintain a clean organized and safe work area while supporting continuous improvement activities. Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers calipers optical comparators microscopes dial indicators gauges and vision systems. Record inspection data per inspection plans and communicate any deviations to supervisors or department leads. Work collaboratively with team members across shifts to share information and maintain workflow. Perform secondary operations including part cleaning work area cleaning and assisting others within the manufacturing department. Machine a variety of materials including metals composites plastics and rubber as required.

Qualifications
Experience operating grinding or machining equipment is preferred. Background in manufacturing environments such as medical device aerospace metals or machinery production is desirable. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and meet production deadlines. Strong manual dexterity and experience using inspection and measurement tools. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-based manufacturing environment. Reliable attendance strong work ethic attention to detail and flexibility to perform multiple machining and manufacturing tasks as needed.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Vocational or technical training in machining manufacturing or engineering is a plus. One to three years of experience as a CNC Grinding Operator in a precision or small-device manufacturing environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements
Frequent repetitive motion and standing. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. Exposure to moving machinery and mechanical components. Continuous use of safety glasses and full PPE in a cleanroom environment. Occasional sitting walking pushing pulling and reaching.
