Job Summary
Our partner is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to support daily scrap metal and material handling operations. This role is ideal for an operator who is comfortable running large equipment in an industrial outdoor environment and takes pride in safe efficient work.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators loaders skid steers and material handlers
- Load unload sort and stage scrap metal and materials
- Support yard operations including processing stockpiling and shipment preparation
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment
- Follow all safety procedures policies and PPE requirements
- Work collaboratively with yard personnel and supervisors
Qualifications
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial or outdoor environment
- Background in scrap recycling steel construction or demolition preferred
- Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
