CITY OF AUBURN COMMUNITY CENTER
The Community Center within our Parks Arts & Recreation Department is looking to hire a Front Desk Clerk. This is a part-time non-benefited position that involves front desk reception and office work. Work duties include: frequent interaction with the public in person and on the telephone and using the automated registration system to schedule record and process class athletic and facility addition this position answers questions and informs patrons of activities classes and amenities available at the Community and Events Center.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position has three shifts:- 7am - 10am Monday - Friday
- 4pm - 8pm Monday - Friday
- 8am - 4pm Saturday
**PLEASE NOTE: All staff are required to work Saturdays on a rotating basis. Weekday shifts are generally kept to the morning or evening.Primary Duties
In this role you will:
- Answer telephones and interact with the public as the receptionist make photocopies distribute mail and file a variety of materials according to established department procedures. You will also archive materials and physically move boxes to the appropriate areas.
- Use computer programs for word processing data entry spreadsheet assignments correspondence reports and forms.
- Perform data entry and cashiering. You may perform recordkeeping or some more advanced bookkeeping functions depending on skills and operational needs.
- Deal tactfully and courteously with the public colleagues and other City employees occasionally in difficult customer service situations.
Minimum Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Have experience as a receptionist or administrative assistant
We would love it if you:
- Have Microsoft Office experience in a Windows environment
- Have knowledge of alpha/numeric filing systems
